Set Boundaries
Theme: Protect your energy and time.
Focus: Identify areas where you need better limits.
Task: Choose one boundary to enforce and reflect on its impact.
Journal Reflection:
- Where in your life do you need stronger boundaries?
- What’s one step you can take to enforce them?
- How will these boundaries protect your energy?

Grim’s Journal Entry:
Boundary Chosen:
I chose to enforce a boundary around my time at home, making sure evenings are reserved for my family and personal reflection rather than work or obligations.
My journal reflection:
- Where in your life do you need stronger boundaries?
I need stronger boundaries around my time and availability, particularly when it comes to work and leadership responsibilities. Too often, those demands spill into evenings and weekends, slowly crowding out family time and the quiet moments I need for reflection and reset. When I don’t protect that space, I find myself giving everyone else the best of me while leaving my family (and myself) with what’s left. Stronger boundaries here aren’t about doing less; they’re about honoring what matters most and recognizing that constant availability comes at a real cost.
- What’s one step you can take to enforce them?
One concrete step I can take is to clearly define and protect my evening and weekend hours. During that time, my focus will be on my family, rest, faith, and personal growth. This means being intentional about saying no, delaying responses that can wait, and communicating these limits openly and respectfully with those I lead and work alongside. By setting expectations upfront, I can reduce guilt, avoid resentment, and create consistency instead of reacting in the moment.
- How will these boundaries protect your energy?
These boundaries will protect my energy by creating space to breathe, reflect, and recharge. They help prevent burnout by breaking the cycle of constant output and allowing recovery to be a priority, not an afterthought. When my energy is protected, I’m more present, patient, and focused. I can lead with clarity instead of exhaustion, engage with my family instead of just being physically present, and show up as the person I want to be – for my team, my loved ones, and myself.
