Prioritize Rest and Recovery

Theme: Recharge to build resolve.

Focus: Balance effort with intentional rest.

Task: Spend 10–30 minutes doing something restful and reflect on how it helps you recharge.

Journal Reflection:

  1. How do you currently balance effort and rest?
  2. What activities help you recharge?
  3. How can you prioritize rest without feeling guilty?

Grim’s Journal Entry:

What I did was restful:

Today I spent 20 minutes sitting quietly outside, just listening to the wind and watching the world move around me. No agenda, no phone, no distractions — just being present.

My journal reflection:

  1. How do you currently balance effort and rest?

I’ve been pushing hard most of the time, managing responsibilities, guiding others, and facing my own challenges and rest often feels like a luxury. Sitting outside quietly showed me that even short pauses can restore energy and focus, helping balance effort with recovery.

  1. What activities help you recharge?

Quiet reflection, sitting outside in nature, breathing exercises, journaling, and spending intentional time with loved ones all help me recharge. These moments slow my mind and reconnect me to what truly matters.

  1. How can you prioritize rest without feeling guilty?

I can remind myself that rest isn’t a weakness, it’s essential for clarity, health, and effective leadership. Scheduling short pauses, treating them as necessary “maintenance” for my mind and body, and reframing rest as preparation rather than indulgence helps me honor it without guilt.
