Grim’s Journal Entry:

Contribution:

Recently, I helped six warriors turn struggle into strength during the latest PATHH class. I guided them through challenges, offered support, and helped them recognize their own ability to overcome obstacles and grow. Being part of their journey was incredibly rewarding. Witnessing their breakthroughs, no matter how small, reminded me of the power of mentorship, presence, and encouragement. It reinforced that my experiences and hard-earned lessons can serve as a roadmap for others navigating their own struggles.

My journal reflection:

  1. Write about a time you helped someone else:

Recently, I came across a motorist stranded on the side of the road who had run out of gas. I stopped, filled their tank, and made sure they were able to get back on the road safely. It was a small, practical act, but it felt important to pause and offer help rather than keep moving. The situation reminded me that even brief encounters can carry weight when someone is struggling and needs support.

  1. How did it make you feel?

Helping that motorist brought a mix of relief, satisfaction, and humility. Watching their genuine gratitude and seeing the immediate difference my action made was a powerful reminder of how simple kindness can be. It also made me reflect on how fortunate I am to be in a position to help and reinforced the idea that presence and action, even in small ways, can leave a meaningful impact.

  1. How can you use your struggles to support others in the future?

My own experiences with challenges, unexpected setbacks, and moments of feeling stuck give me empathy for others who are in similar situations. I can use that perspective to respond with patience, understanding, and practical help when someone needs it. By remembering how it feels to rely on the kindness of others, I can act intentionally to make someone else’s burden lighter, knowing that even small gestures — like filling a tank, offering a listening ear, or sharing guidance — can create a lasting positive impact.
